As the weather cools we start to adapt to seasonal changes, we start eating richer hardier meals, add extra layers to our outfits and switch out our lighter quilts to a heavier quilt more appropriate to the cooler nights.

We should also include seasonal changes in our skincare routine, Dehydration and sensitised skin is a common occurrence in the cooler months as we tend to enjoy hotter showers, indoor heating and are constantly battling the outside elements. Your skin needs all the moisture it can get at this time of year and the absorption of the right ingredients is paramount. Opting in winter for a lipid rich more occlusive moisturiser to protect the skin from trans epidermal water loss (TEWL) is key. This happens when the outer layer of the skin is compromised, and is the very crux of many skin problems.

Switching from a foaming cleanser to a cream or oil cleanser to avoid that tight, stripped feeling. Including a facial oil to alleviate the dryness and nourish the skin, this can be applied by simply adding a few drops to your moisturizer or by layering one over the other. Hyaluronic Acid is an essential ingredient helping to boost the skin's moisture content and can be used as often as needed throughout the day as a mist or as a serum morning and night. Exfoliation in the form of an enzyme exfoliant is a gentle yet effective way to dissolve surface skin cells keeping the skin soft and smooth. Exfoliating helps to maintain hydration levels and allows for products to absorb more easily and effectively.

Finally, I would suggest taking Omega oils to help regulate oil flow and hydration levels from within, giving your skin a natural boost towards that healthy glow
